About Our Principal
"Students don't care how much you know, until they know how much you care."
Michael Wilson, Principal

Dear Hudson High School Families and Students,
Welcome to the start of the 2026–2027 school year! I hope you all had a wonderful, restful summer. As Principal, I am thrilled to welcome both our returning families and those who are joining our school community for the first time. We are looking forward to another exciting year of academic growth, discovery, and student achievement.
Below are key details regarding the start of the school year and an overview of our academic vision for 2026–2027.
Important Opening Day Information- First Day of School: Thursday, September 10, 2026
- Start Time: Period 1 begins promptly at 8:20 AM. Please ensure students arrive on time each day ready to learn.
Our Instructional Vision & Academic Focus
This year, we are continuing our core instructional focus: "Know the Standards, Own the Outcome."
Grounded in our commitment to authentic student agency and cultivating a supportive "warm demander" environment, we are extending our partnership with Sarah from District Public. This collaboration provides our instructional team with standard-aligned assessments, diagnostic tools, and targeted coaching to ensure daily tasks are clearly aligned with state standards—empowering our students to take full ownership of their academic success.
New Literacy Initiative: The Writing Revolution
We are also raising the bar across all subjects by embedding disciplinary literacy into every department through a new partnership with The Writing Revolution.
Because strong written expression is critical for success on high-stakes assessments, college readiness, and future career pathways, we are prioritizing writing across the curriculum. Through this initiative, all classrooms will integrate unified, evidence-based literacy routines—such as low-stakes Quick Writes and structured Cornell Note-Catchers—helping every student build confidence, clarity, and stamina in their writing.
Family Support & Communication
If you have any questions, need assistance prior to opening day, or need to update your contact information, please do not hesitate to contact our Parent Coordinator:

- Email: cdawson@hudsonhs.com
- Phone: (212) 488-3330 ext. 1282

Warm regards,Michael Wilson
